- see instructions below for viewing on-screen and printing. Skynews
dated September 2010 to present are available for download in one format only -
standard letter size - no special instructions needed!
 | a screen readable version - pages follow each other sequentially, making
it easy to read Skynews on your computer display |
 | a printable booklet version - pages are arranged in a sequence suitable for
printing Skynews in a booklet format using your printer. Please
read the printing instructions below: |
On-screen Viewing Tip: Before the Jan/05 issue, Skynews was only
available in a format suitable for printing as a 5½" x 8½"
booklet, and when viewed using Acrobat Reader, the document will be
displayed 90° anti-clockwise on your monitor. To rotate the document in
Acrobat Reader, select Rotate View on the View menu , then select
Clockwise. Skynews will now be displayed so you can read the text -
two pages side by side. Page one (the cover) will be to the right, and the
back page will be displayed to the left. To read pages sequentially, start
with the cover page on the right, then as you page down through the document,
alternate left and right to the bottom of the document (centre pages) zigzag
fashion, then page back up through the document alternating left and right again
until you reach the top (back page).
Printing Tip: Skynews is formatted to be a printed booklet size of
5½" x 8½". You can use your computer's printer at home to print the
booklet on 8½" x 11" (standard letter sized) paper.
- Display the printable booklet version of a Skynews pdf file for viewing within Adobe Acrobat on your computer
- Turn your printer on and load 8½" x 11" paper.
- Click on Print,
then select Print odd pages before clicking OK.
- Once your printer has printed those pages, pay attention to whether the top of
the long side of the pages are on your right or left as you remove the pages
from the printer. Now you are ready to print the back of the pages.
- If your printer prints on the blank side of the paper that is on top when
in the paper supply bin, then re-sort the already-printed pages in reverse
order, otherwise don't re-sort the pages.
- Put the printed pages back in your printer's paper supply bin, paying
attention to match the left or right direction for the long side of the tops of
the pages previously noted.
- Click on Print, then select Print even pages before clicking
OK. Now the pages will be printed
back to back. You can cut the pages exactly in half, sort them in order, and
staple them together to make your own Skynews.
This takes many words to explain, however the whole process doesn't take
more than five minutes, depending on the printing speed of your printer.
As an added bonus, if you have a colour printer, your Skynews will look much better
than the black and white edition that is mailed out!
